NOVEMBER 2022

We always thank our God for each of you, dear friends and ministry partners!

This Thanks-Giving letter comes to you as a result of a plea that we put out for young people to get personally involved in reaching out to others.
About a month ago we received a precious letter, along with an envelope filled with cash, from a group of young children who attend a church here on our island, pastored by our long-time friends, David and Anne.

These children heard a word from the Lord:  "Set up a lemonade stand and collect money for the children of Ukraine who need help."
Children can and do hear God’s voice! They collected over $350 in cash donations from their little stand!

We used their loving gift towards the purchase of nearly 100 children’s blankets and sent them to our church in Ukraine.
I emailed Tania to tell her and let their children know about this coming blessing. Tania thought it was a good idea to have THEIR children write thank you notes and pictures to send back to our "lemonade stand" children. She reports that the children in the humanitarian center responded very joyfully and she sent  many pictures of the children holding their notes and artwork.

Below is part of the email from Tania. We believe that the Lord desires us to share it with you, our faithful ministry partners, so that you may know just how important your prayers and gifts are, as well. Even if your offering may seem like a drop in the bucket compared to the need, God is able to take these drops and fill many cups and give them to these precious and thirsty hearts.

God is doing an amazing work! All praise and thanks giving go to Him. He provides everything we have and from His hand we pass on the blessings.

Happy, happy THANKS GIVING!
Jessie
“…for this generous thing you do, the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in all your undertakings.” (Deuteronomy 15:10)

The email from Tania in Ukraine. Please, continue to pray, pray, pray!

Dear Grandma Hansi and Dear Jessie,
Today we received 7 boxes of blankets and clothes. They are simply beautiful. Blankets are a real blessing these days. We are warned every day that a hard winter awaits us. We already have problems with electricity. Every day they turn off the lights for several hours, they ask to limit the switching on of any electrical devices. We all stock up on warm clothes, blankets, gas cylinders (if there is gas), firewood, solar batteries, power banks...
I suggested that the children draw pictures at our (refugee) center. People responded with great joy. There were more than 40 drawings. Since refugees are very vulnerable and broken, they gladly respond to anything that brings positive emotions. Also, they are very open to the preaching of God's Word now.
So, when we saw that they responded enthusiastically and drew so many pictures, we decided to invite them to church on Saturday, hold a holiday for the children and give the children small gifts. We were supposed to start at 10:00 a.m., but at 9:00 an air-raid alarm began and kept going off and on for the next 3 hours. We were all disappointed but decided to cancel, however at 12:00 p.m. parents started arriving with their children who had already left home and did not want to return home. We can't take any meetings during air alerts, we can get a very big fine for that, besides, it's dangerous if missiles fly into our city. So, we decided to quickly distribute the gifts and leave the church. But while we were handing out gifts, about 30 more children and 30 parents came! And they just didn't want to go anywhere. They were tired of stress and wanted a holiday for themselves and their children. What should we do? And then we remembered that we have one small room without windows, and considered relatively safe during attacks. We took all the children there and held a Bible lesson in that tiny room.
Iryna (director of the Children Center) took their parents to the Child Care Center - there is also a safe room there, and a psychologist conducted a conversation with the parents. Beforehand we ordered pizzas and now it seemed to be very good idea as all shops were closed. We thought that the parents would eat together with the children. But Iryna comes and says: Tania, give us, please, pizzas at the Children's Center; the parents will not eat here with the children, they are crying and telling the psychologist about everything that hurts them...
When the air raid ended, we took the children out into the big hall, where they played games, sang songs and ate pizza. The parents were extremely grateful.
We thank God that He gives us the strength to walk and not fall, but only to trust Him. In fact, it's hard when we can't plan anything. It's hard when you don't know what to do next and how to live. If it weren't for God, depression could engulf us in an instant.
Thank you very much! There are no words to thank you. In fact, the feeling that we are not abandoned makes me want to cry, but there are no tears. Thank you! We love you and may God give you
many times more His blessings.
With love,
Tania

SPECIAL REQUEST (as of July 2022,: Yes, we are still needing someone!)
Many of you have sent articles (shoes, toys, blankets, clothing, etc.) to Darlene in Illinois over the past several years.
But our dear Darlene - at least for the time being - is unable to pack boxes and deliver them to Chicago.
We need another person willing to take on this project. Please pray about it and contact us. Thank you very much.
